The Bank of London


Background

While working at Class35 I worked on The Bank of London account. It’s is a new clearing bank, the only bank in the world that has an account with the US Federal Reserve, the European Central Bank and the Bank of England. The Bank of London launched with a $1.1BN valuation, making it the first bank or fintech in Europe to achieve ‘unicorn’ status upon debut.

Brief

To design the B to B onboarding flow for new customers (banks, building societies and fintechs)

Process

I worked with anther UX Designer and the Head of Growth at Class35 elusively in Figma. Together we interviewed a number of different people across the company to flesh out business and regulatory requirements. There was a lot of different country specific regulatory requirements we had to adhere to, which posed a big UX challenge as the process was inherently complex.

However we iterated the wires daily making the most of Figma's shared working space often working together in real time on joint calls. Every week we would present the work in progress to the various different stakeholders (CCO, Co-President, Group MD of Product) each week. Presenting to the Group CEO and Founder every other week.

Ultimately all the steak holders were very pleased with user flow and wires, meeting all the requirements while being easy to navigate and use.
